*SPC wins marketing awards at district conference*
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Office of College Relations won
five Medallion Awards from District 4 of the National Council for
Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). The awards were presented during
the District 4 awards ceremony on Oct. 19-21 in San Antonio.
SPC earned one gold and four silver awards. The gold award was won with
the Community Report in the College Annual Report category.
Silver awards were earned for Original Photography (Sparks in
Education); Sports Brochure (Basketball Media Guide);
Notes/Cards/Invitation (Boots & Pearls Gala Invitation); and the
Academic Catalog.
“It is always an honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Dane
Dewbre, SPC associate dean of college relations. “The college relations
staff here at SPC has done great work in representing the college. I am
very proud of them all.”
The Office of College Relations staff members are Holly LeRoy, visual
communications specialist; Adrian Mellberg, web content coordinator;
Stephen Esquivel, visual communications specialist; Wes Underwood,
photographer; Myrna Whitehead, news and information coordinator; and
Cindy Scott, secretary to the associate dean of College Relations. Joe
Walker, sports information coordinator, also contributed to the projects.
NCMPR is an organization that exclusively represents marketing and
public relations professionals at community, technical and junior
colleges. It has more than 1,550 members from more than 600 colleges
