After the TABC last week announced it would let the courts settle citizen protests of this May’s election to expand alcohol sales in Lubbock County, a Lubbock PAC is speaking out. Lubbock County Wins today says that the TACB’s decision to ‘Pass the Buck’ is not fair or consistent. Lubbock County Wins is alleging that the main citizen protests against May’s election were filed incorrectly and in the wrong jurisdiction, and they should be dismissed by the TABC. Right now, while the protests are being considered, no alcohol sales permits are being processed in Lubbock County. Also, you may remember that back in May, Lubbock County’s Assistant District Attorney wrote a formal letter to the Lubbock County Clerk stating that May’s Election to expand alcohol sales within the county was valid, and that Lubbock should be considered a ‘wet’ county.
