Five Lubbock ISD schools failed to meet federal standards concerning Adequate Yearly Progress, otherwise known as A-Y-P, according to a report released yesterday by the TEA. The AYP standards are tied to the federal No Child Left Behind Act enacted under President George W. Bush. The five Lubbock ISD campuses cited were Lubbock High, Coronado High, Estacado High, Dunbar Middle and Alderson Middle schools. The federal guidelines are different from state guidelines, as all four Lubbock ISD High School were rated Academically Acceptable by TEA and Dunbar and Alderson Middle schools were rated Academically Unacceptable by the TEA
