The Buddy Holly Center and Alderson Auto Group are excited to present Los SOB’s as part of the BHC’s Summer Showcase, the weekly Thursday night concert series held in the Meadows Courtyard. On September 3, 2009, from 5:30 – 7:30p.m., Los SOB’s will close out the Summer Showcase concert series with an exciting performance. The concert is FREE and open to the public. A cash bar will be available for the crowd’s enjoyment. Please, no outside beverages or coolers are allowed.
Los S.O.B.’s have been a western U.S. staple since their inception in 2002. While many great musicians have played in the band since then, the one constant has been Bryan Wheeler’s (aka BubbaEarl) songwriting. The band, from the start, has been about bringing good musicians together to create an original sound around original songs. Regular players over the years include Jeremiah Goyette, Matt “enchi” Lara, Amanda Key, Jon “Mop Bucket” Williams, Doug “Dr. Skoob” Haines, Allen Roberts, Joel Searsy, Mike Bernal and Shad Daugherty. They’ve shared the stage with folks like the late, great Jesse “Guitar” Taylor, Texas Bel-Airs, John X. Reed, Bukka and Bale Allen, and their “Governor” Kinky Friedman. For the Buddy Holly Summer Showcase, Bryan and Shad will be teaming with local legend J.T. Paz on bass, to render pseudo-acoustic versions of classics, from the raucous country song “I’m Gone” to the jazzy “Mercury Marquis” and rocker “She Felt So Good”.
