Anheuser-Busch Distributor Will Promote Responsibility at Dylan, Nelson, Mellencamp Concert
(Lubbock, Texas–July 15, 2009) Llano Estacado Music’s biggest concert yet will happen August 8 at Jones AT&T Stadium and with the plan on to sell adult beverages, Standard Sales Company, the local Anheuser Busch Distributor is also stepping up plans to promote responsibility among concert attendees. The concert featuring Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp is highly anticipated and many locals believe the option to purchase adult beverages at the event is a long time coming.
Standard Sales Company plans to do their part to ensure that everyone has a great time at the event by promoting responsible drinking and assisting organizers with measures to help prevent underage drinking and drunk driving. They plan to implement the Sound Attitude program, a comprehensive program encouraging responsible fan behavior from the moment people enter the venue until they head home.
“Everyone involved is doing an outstanding job in stepping up and promoting the message of responsibility for this event,” says Retha Fortenberry, Consumer Awareness Director for Standard Sales Company, “we want everyone to enjoy the concert but we also want to encourage smart decisions and make sure everyone gets home safely.”
Sound Attitude focuses on three key areas to encourage responsibility:
* Communicating a series of messages to the public and fans to remind them of the importance of responsible behavior;
* Encouraging the use of TABC trained servers, thorough ID checks and additional security personal;
* Implementing a designated driver program at the event; and
* Encouraging recycling.
“Everyone is excited about the concert and about the opportunity to enjoy a cold beer,” says Fortenberry “but everyone involved wants to make sure the concert is fun and safe-and for adults who chose to drink-this means drinking responsibly and always using a designated driver.”
Sound Attitude is one of more than two dozen community-based alcohol awareness and education programs sponsored by Anheuser-Busch. Since 1982, the company and its network of more than 600 wholesalers have invested more than $750 million in alcohol awareness and education programs and partnerships.
